My name is Selina Akther, and my husband’s name is Habib Ullah and we are from Bangladesh. Bangladesh, to the East of India on the Bay of Bengal, is South Asian country marked by lush greenery and many waterways. We came to Lithuania on 2015 for our higher education. Me and my husband done our graduation from Kauno kolegija from Tourism and hotel management and General nursing. After our graduation, we had decided to study in Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Centre for our practical knowledge of Barman & waiters (PB18T) and Cooking (VM18). When we got the invitation to study at Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Centre, we were worried because of our limited Lithuanian language. But when we arrived at the school for the first time, the school environment surprised us. We were welcomed very cordially.

The classrooms are modern and well decorated. Our classmates are very friendly and helpful. Most of them speak English very well and always help us in the class with translation. Our teachers are also very helpful and open-minded especially my group teacher Daiva Ažukaitė, my husband’s group teacher Sonata Tutlienė, and my favorite teacher Angelina Oja, Sonata Andriuškevičienė. They always give us an extra touch of care.

In our school, we have well-equipped labs and a functioning restaurant which is very helpful for our practice. We live in the dormitory, a modern, well-maintained building with all the lovely ladies who are taking care of us.

We have been in Lithuania for over 4 years. Before coming to this school, we had a misconception about Lithuanian young people. Our previous opinions were, young people from Lithuania are not very good at conversational English; they were very shy or not friendly. But the situation is completely different in this school. All our classmates are very friendly, even in the dormitory, everyone is very communicative and friendly.
I celebrated my last birthday with my teachers and classmates at our school. The Director of our school also joined the party. I got some lovely presents from them. I cooked a special meal for them. Everyone liked my cooking. It was one of the best birthdays of my life.

We are very proud to be a member of a family, Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Centre.

Best Regards
